LAKEPORT >> Lakeport Rotary began its new Rotary year this past Wednesday with a bang. Jennifer Strong, the new president of the club, unveiled an innovative approach to leadership of the group for the coming year.
Instead of just one president, the club is actually going to be run by all of the club’s past presidents — 16 in total. It’s going to be fast paced, fun and filled with a tremendous amount of variety. She also unveiled the ambitious club goals for the year which includes growth of the membership, community service projects and international projects.
Their first public event is coming up on Friday, July 17 at the Concert in the Park in Lakeport. They will be selling hot dog meals for a minimum donation of $5 with 100 percent of the proceeds to support Rotary International’s project of Polio Eradication.
