Middletown High School 2015 valedictorian Ariana Diaz was awarded the National Hispanic Merit Scholarship and was voted as the female senior most likely to succeed by her classmates.
She has did well not only academically , but also in sports, especially volleyball and tennis. Diaz was the setter in the volleyball varsity team and won the first place in tennis women doubles in the Coastal Mountain Conference tournament this year with her friend, then sophomore, Elena Garay.
She was accepted in UC Berkeley, UC Davis and UCLA, among others, and has decided to attend Pomona College in Claremont, to persue her dream to become a pediatrician in an underserved area.
