There will be a celebration of life memorial service for Betty Dayton on August 15 at 1 p.m. at the Upper Lake Community United Methodist Church located at 676 Clover Valley Road (corner of First Street and Clover Valley Road) in the town of Upper Lake. The service will be officiated by certified Lay Minister Gary Lewis and Pastor Wanda Celli. Nancy Haner, daughter to Betty, will read the Eulogy as well as perform special music. In addition, Jill Shaul and Sarah Tichava will sing “The Way-fairing Stranger” and Lauren Trippeer will sing “The Bells of St. Mary.” A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.

Betty was born on December 19, 1921 and passed away June 9, 2015 at 93 years of age. At the time of her death, she was at the Roseville Point Skilled Nursing Facility, Roseville, California, where she could be near her daughter. She was a valued member of Upper Lake Community UMC.

A private burial was held on June 17, at the Hartley Cemetery in Lakeport where she is buried next to her husband Charles.
