LAKE COUNTY >> Three venues in Lake County are hosting the NorCal Disc Golf Series 2015 championship tournament the weekend of Oct. 17-18.
Golfers in pro, advanced, advanced master and a variety of other divisions will take turns playing at the Highland Springs Disc Golf Course south of Lakeport, Buckingham Golf and Country Club and Black Rock Golf Club on Cobb Mountain.
“It’s a big deal for Lake County,” Black Rock golf shop manager Michael Mos said of the two-day tournament.
A field of more than 200 disc golfers is expected to participate on the three 18-hole courses.
The weekend’s activities include check-in and a party on Oct. 16 at a location to be determined. On Oct. 17, rounds one and two take place. In round one (8:30 a.m. start), the pros play at Highland Springs, the advance and advance master divisions compete at Black Rock while all other divisions square off at Buckingham. In round two (2 p.m. start), the pros visit Black Rock, advance and advance masters play at Buckingham, and all other divisions compete at Highland Springs.
On Oct. 18, the tournament wraps up with round three (9 a.m. start). The pros finish at Buckingham, the masters and advanced masters are at Highland Springs, and all other divisions meet at Black Rock.
The awards ceremony follows at 3 p.m. at Buckingham.
