Clearlake >> A man in a stolen vehicle with stolen items was arrested on Monday.

At about 6:50 a.m. Clearlake police officer Travis Parson conducted a traffic stop for an infraction in the area of Buckeye Street near Austin Road. Sgt. Rodd Joseph soon discovered that the vehicle was an unreported stolen car from Sonoma County, detective Sgt. Nick Bennett stated.

The driver, identified as 20-year-old Clearlake resident Zachary Stovall, was found to be on probation for weapons violations in Lake County and was subsequently taken into custody for probation custody.

Further investigation revealed there were several items of stolen property in the vehicle including coins, checkbooks and various forms of identification cards, according to Bennett.

The investigation continues into the theft of the vehicle and contacting additional victims of burglaries both in Clearlake and Sonoma County.

Stovall was booked into Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility on a charge violation of probation with other charges pending.
