Clearlake >> More than 3 ounces of methamphetamine, possibly for sale, were found in a vehicle after a traffic stop on Monday.

Clearlake Sgt. Tim Hobbs pulled Rafael Garcia Jr. over in the area of 38th Avenue and Oak Avenue for an unspecified reason at about 12:22 p.m. The Los Angeles resident was found to have an outstanding warrant for traffic violations and was taken into custody, according to detective Sgt. Nick Bennett.

Officers then allegedly saw what appeared to be narcotics, later verified as methamphetamine, in the vehicle next to where Garcia, 40, was sitting. Additionally, Garcia reportedly had a large amount of money which was seized per narcotic asset forfeiture, Bennett stated.

Garcia was booked into the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility and on the outstanding warrant and charged with possession of controlled substances for sale.
