UPDATED:

The next Friday Night Shabbat Service will be on Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. at the Lower Lake United Methodist Church. Please bring something for the Oneg Shabbat, if you can. For a synopsis of this week’s Parshah, see www.baischabad.com/parshah/default.asp.

The following Yahrzeits will be remembered at that service:

8/18/15 – Elul 3: Herman Stearn, Grandfather of David Stearn

8/21/15 – Elul 6: Cecilia Zeissl, Mother of Arlene Grimes

8/27/15 – Elul 12: Bertha Kagan, Grandmother of Richard Altman

8/28/15 – Elul 13: Richard Elliot Barnett, Brother of Bruce Barnett

8/29/15 – Elul 14: Ethel Kagan Altman, Mother of Richard Altman

It is very important in the Jewish tradition to remember Yahrzeits. If a close relative has passed away this year (or even in past years), please send Rabbi Altman the information. He needs the person’s name, the date of death (as close as you can come), and his/her relationship to you.

High Holydays are coming soon. Erev Rosh Hashanah will be on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. Kol Nidrei and Shabbat will be on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m., and Simchat Torah and Shabbat will be on Friday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. Please save the dates and try to arrive about 15 minutes early.

Please check the Beit Chavurah web site regularly. Go to beitchavurah.org or beitchavurah.awardspace.com/homepage.htm.

The Lower Lake Methodist Church is located at 16255 2nd St. in Lower Lake.
