Let’s admit it Lake County, we have been under a great deal of stress. As much as we appreciate the monumental effort of the fire fighters responding to the Rocky and Jerusalem fires, they have taken a toll on our community.
So what do we do next?
You are invited to a workshop Wednesday, August 26, on healing and building resilience in the wake of this kind of incidence. Is this workshop for you?
It is geared for
· Anyone who would like to learn tools for healing and resilience in the aftermath of trauma (although we are focusing on the fire — we can all learn better ways of dealing with stress)
· Anyone who felt anxious during the recent fires
· Anyone ready to be empowered to help rebuild our community
This workshop is sponsored by: the Clearlake Police Dept., The City of Clearlake, Lake County Sheriff, Lake County CAN!, Marymount University, The United Methodist Churches of Lake County, Lakeport Bible Fellowship, Galilee Lutheran Church, United Christian Parish and Week of Compassion. It is absolutely free to the public, but we do ask that you RSVP so we can have materials available for all participants.
Because most of us think better on a full stomach we’ll start with a free catered meal at 5 p.m. and then begin the workshop at 5:30. We will finish by 8pm.
The workshop will take place at the Clearlake Sr. Center, 3245 Bowers Avenue, Clearlake.
Please RSVP to United Christian Parish at 263-4788 or by visiting our facebook event page.
