Lakeport >> The “What I Love About Lake County” chalkboard wall will have new life in Lakeport — this time on City Hall’s wall facing Park Place. A crew will be painting this community-participation art mural at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
“The Wall” is the Lake County Regional Economic Development Committee’s love note to the area — and a precursor to Lake Leadership Summit ‘15, a three-quarter-day event for Lake County businesses, innovators, leaders and entrepreneurs, taking place on Oct. 9 at Marymount California University (MCU) in Lucerne.
“We aim to make Lake County a viable contender for new business and industry, and we want to give existing businesses the tools that they need to flourish,” summit ‘15 co-creator Rebecca Southwick said in statement.
Expert speakers will hold presentations from “Show Me the Money!” to “Your (Website) Storefront Looks Like Hell.” There will also be breakout sessions for participants. Speakers will be available in a designated area over the lunch break for questions.
People and businesses will be recognized during an awards ceremony — red carpet and all.
Tickets are on sale and cost $35 per person and covers food. Grab a friend and it’s $50 for both.
