Lakeport >> A tribute event for Roland Kent Smith will be held Sunday, Aug. 30 for friends and family in Lake County.
Smith died instantly in a motorcycle accident on Aug. 6. Although he had a long list of personal accomplishments, his most recent foray into the Lake County spotlight was as a competitor for the 2015 Mr. Lake County belt.
The gathering will present a program on his life, including eulogies and a video presentation. Some of Smith’s favorite foods will be available, along with a silent auction, to benefit Smith’s three children, who reside in Placer County. The auctioneer will be David Neft, who will also provide live music.
