Clearlake >> The Highlands Senior Service Center (HSSC) Hoe-Down, an annual benefit dinner dance for the senior programs at HSSC, will be held on Sept. 19.
Doors open at the senior center community building at 5 p.m. and dinner service will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $25 each and are available at the senior center, located at 3245 Bowers Ave. in Clearlake, and at the Meals on Wheels Thrift Store of Clearlake, located at 14773 Lakeshore Drive. Tickets are also available at Bob’s Vacuum, 4165 Mullen Ave.
Dinner will be catered by the Yuba College Culinary Academy. A no-host bar will be provided by the Lakeshore Lions Club. Activities include a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction with prizes donated by members of the Clearlake business community. After dinner, diners will be dance to music by Whiskey & Coke.
The senior programs at HSSC provide services to people 60 and older in the communities of Clearlake, Clearlake Park and Lower Lake.
Programs include congregate dining, providing seniors with a place to meet their peers and enjoy a nutritious meal in a safe environment, the Meals on Wheels program which provides meals to frail homebound seniors and the Information and Assistance program which helps seniors find answers to questions that affect them.
