Clearlake >> A benefit golf tournament is being sponsored by Praises of Zion Baptist Church to raise money to renovate a recently purchased bus that will serve the youth of Clearlake. The bus will act as a mobile multipurpose event center and classroom with movies, computers, comfortable furniture, refrigerator and amenities geared towards teenagers. The purpose of the bus is to fill the needs of our local youth by providing positive activities, guidance through biblical principles, and teaching community awareness and service.

The golf tournament will be Saturday, Sept. 26 at Blackrock Golf Course on Cobb Mountain, formerly the Rob Roy Golf Course, at 16451 Golf Road. The cost is $50, which includes 9 holes of golf, a cart and lunch. Trophies and raffle prizes will be awarded to those who participate. This event is a four-person team scramble. The check-in time is 8:30 a.m. with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Tax deductible contributions can be made to Praises of Zion Baptist Church. The deadline for sign-up is Sept. 20.

For information or to sign up for the tournament, call Mitchell Webb at 355-1596.
