Bingo: Bingo lovers are invited to Ukiah Senior Center’s Bartlett Hall for a Bingo Bash day of games at 495 Leslie St. This event is open to the community but participants must be 18 years or older to attend. Enjoy a meal of “All you can eat Spaghetti”, garlic bread and green salad for $5, served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Games begin at 1 and ticket sales start at 10 a.m. Minimum buy in is $15, includes every game. Payout size is dependent on attendance. Minimum payout is $35, every game. Players may get a chance to win one of three $250 payouts. A Snack Bar will be open all day. Support group: This series is presented on the third Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon in the RCHDC conference room at the Ukiah Senior Center Administration Building, 499 Leslie St. Redwood Caregiver Resource Center will present training on Alzheimer’s for family members and professionals. Facilitator Alexis Glidewell, MSW, will present a video entitled, “Complaints of a Dutiful Daughter”. This film is an Oscar-nominated documentary of one woman’s experience caring for her mother with Alzheimer’s disease. She chronicles her struggles and challenges and shares how she learned to adapt, cope and cultivate connection with her mother as the disease process progressed. There will be a discussion on living with ambiguous loss and anticipatory grief, adjusting to new ways of interacting with a cognitively-impaired loved one, setting realistic expectations, and the importance of self-care to manage stress and remain flexible. Ice cream social: The Ice Cream Social will be held in Bartlett Hall from 2 to 3 p.m. Enjoy a dish of ice cream with toppings and pie for $2. Members over 90 or those coming to the Social in their birthday month will enjoy free admission. But all are welcome to come and enjoy! Entertainment will be provided by Ed Reinhart who plays and sings raucous Boogie-Woogie and slow blues styles.
