SACRAMENTO >> Senator Mike McGuire, who represents all of Lake County in the California State Senate, has launched a fundraising drive in an effort to help the victims of the devastating Valley Fire that has ravaged communities leaving behind destruction of hundreds of homes and dozens of businesses.
“When I was in Middletown, I had the opportunity to talk with veteran firefighters who have seen the worst of the worst, and they’ve never seen anything like the Valley Fire,” McGuire said. “We need to come together and help our neighbors in Lake County, now, when they need it most.”
Lake County needs help from its neighbors — and officials are saying the most important thing people in surrounding counties can do is make a monetary donation to a secure and credible source.
McGuire is working with Redwood Credit Union and The Press Democrat to launch a donation drive. One hundred percent of the donations will go to help fire victims of this unprecedented disaster. There are several ways to give:

“This is a fire of historic proportions — it’s been absolutely devastating. But the response of Californians pitching in to help our neighbors has been incredible,” McGuire said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the fire victims, their families, all of the firefighters and all those impacted by this tragedy. Thank you for stepping up to help Lake County.”
