To ensure the safety of students, families, teachers and staff all Lake County public schools will be closed on Tuesday, September 15.
Middletown Unified School District, Konocti Unified School District and Kelseyville Unified School District will remained closed for the rest of the week.
Due to the devastation in the Middletown and Cobb area, it is unknown when Middletown schools will reopen.
Lakeport, Upper Lake, and Lucerne schools are scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, September 16 unless there are significant changes to the emergency situation. If any changes occur, the school districts will keep you updated.
The Mendocino College Lake Center will be open and classes taught at the Lake Center will be held today. However, college classes taught at Clearlake High School and Kelseyville High School will not meet on Tuesday.
All other Mendocino College locations are open. Mendocino College is deeply concerned for the all of those who have been affected by the Valley Fire and the evacuations. The college will accommodate students who are unable to attend class due to the crisis. A student emergency fund is available for students who have a serious demonstrated college-related need, such as replacing school supplies and textbooks, as a result of this emergency.
