With an air tanker flying ominously overhead, the Middletown and St. Bernard girls’ soccer teams had absolutely no idea what was headed their way late Saturday afternoon during a non-league game at Middletown High School. A firestorm of destruction, better known as the Valley Fire, was bearing down on the towns of Hidden Valley Lake and Middletown after earlier ravaging several Cobb Mountain communities.
