Mandy Zachgo treats an injured kitten at the Middletown Animal Hospital. Zachgo is a veterinary technician from UC Davis. She has volunteered since Thursday. The clinic has treated over 100 animals hurt in the Valley Fire, including dogs, cats and farm animals, from horses to chickens. On Saturday a Cal Fire crew even brought in goldfish rescued from a koi pond. The animals are sent to other shelters once nursed back to health.
