Lakeport >> LC Diamonds bass player Dale Billester recently suffered a personal tragedy when he lost his wife, Jillian, to cancer. To honor her memory, a celebration of Jillian’s life will be held this Sunday, Sept. 27 at the Soper Reese Theatre in Lakeport from 3 to 7 p.m.
Jillian was instrumental in the purchase and renovation of the Soper Reese through her tireless efforts on behalf of the Lake County Arts Council, and the first perpetual Jillian Billester Scholarship will be awarded at the event.
A celebration of a full and beautiful life should include entertainment, and to that end there will be a full slate of dance music, featuring the LC Diamonds, Fargo Brothers, Psychedellos, Faith Hornby and special guests, including the incomparable Bettie Mae Fikes. Refreshments will be available as well as a small selection of auction items. We’re hoping that you can find the time to drop by, dance a little, hug a lot and remind ourselves what a great community we are as we move forward.
