Welcome back after a very difficult week for many. Most people should know that school for all of Lake County was halted for a week because of the Valley fire. The Carlé community hearts and prayers go out to the families who were displaced, and the many who have lost their homes. Our hearts also go out to the families of the people that lost their lives in the fire. The Carlé staff and students send their deepest condolences.

Carlé and Lake County would like to thank all the fire crews who battled the blaze to save our towns and homes. We would like to thank law enforcement for the yeoman job they have done during this difficult time.

Here at Carlé we have a student-run enterprise. We call the business Pegasus Productions, and students around campus help to run it and much of what is needed around the school. Carlé has the ability to make “thank you” memorabilia. We would like to offer our services to make thank you’s for firefighters, etc. If you are interested in our students making items to thank those who have done so much for our county, call Alan Siegel at 994-1033 ext. 2808.

Carlé would like to welcome new staff member Olga Paselk, a para-educator who joined us this week. Paselk is from Costa Rica and has worked for the school district for 14 years. She was awarded a mug made by Candace Safreno on our morning television bulletin.

Carlé would like to thank Gillian Parillo, LCNVRD coordinator and her team of Shirley Holand, Cindi Koehn NVRD lead, William D. Manners and Lucia L. Boyle, who came and donated their time to make sure that our students who are eligible were registered to vote.

We have had two students of the week recently and their names are Elliot McKay and Isis Terrell. Carlé congratulates them on their awards. This week’s CHILY winner was Jacob Schmidt, and he chose a lava lamp.
