Clearlake >> A Santa Rosa man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly leading officers in a motorcycle chase.

According to reports, Sgt. Tim Hobbs and officer Matthew Huot noticed a 1999 Yamaha motorcycle run a stop sign Eighth and Bush streets at approximately 50 miles per hour. Hout activated his the emergency lights and siren to conduct a traffic stop. The motoryclist, identified as Aaron Daniel Lain, reportedly failed to pull over, however, He instead allegedly slowed down and tossed a loaded revolver on the side of the road that officers later recovered near children playing.

Hobbs stated that Lain, 33, then accelerated at a high rate of speed and continued north on Eighth Street and leading officers on a pursuit that stretched several blocks before hitting a dead end private driveway.

Officers were able to arrest the suspect as he got off his motorcycle and allegedly found him in possession of approximately half an ounce of methamphetamine, Hobbs stated.

Upon investigation, the Clearlake police found Lain to be on active California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation parole for residential burglary

Lain was booked into the Lake County Jail. He faces charges of felony evading in a vehicle, resisting arrest, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, felon in possession of a loaded concealed firearm, armed in the commission of a felony, felony child endangerment, possession of methamphetamine for sales, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, driving with a suspended driver’s license and violation of parole.
