Upper Lake >> Shannon Michele of Cache Creek Catering and Lake County Wine Studio are presenting a monthly food and wine series featuring gourmet appetizers paired with select Lake County wines on Friday. Locally produced foods are featured as key ingredients in recipes created by Cache Creek Catering.
The Local Cuisine Scene (LCS) will feature the annual October theme Elegant Sips and Luxury Bites. The first pairing will be Dusinberré Cellars Sparkling Cuvée Rouge and organic white popcorn dressed with truffle oil, truffle salt and a dusting of fresh thyme.
The second pairing features a magnum bottle of Bodkin Albino Sauvignon Blanc and salmon with lemon and chives in a puff pastry, followed by Six Sigma Tempranillo vintage 2007 with the main course of coffee spiced New York strip skewer, toasted crostini with roasted garlic and Gruyère fondue.
The dessert course will be a chocolate mousse tartlet with white and chocolate dipped strawberry paired with Hawk and Horse Latigo Cabernet dessert wine.
The series is held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on the second Friday of each month. Reservations are required and include a 30-day complimentary membership to the LCS Club. Club members will be offered private pairings, pairing consultations, special private catering rates, access to recipes and first option for seatings at LCS for members and their guests.
