Ukiah >> When Justin Capri local owner of Freedom Skateshop heard about the Valley Fire in Lake County his mind instantly started whirling with ideas of how he could help. Through his contacts from his shop he has been able to get Vans to do a Vans Valley Fire Tour Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. to host a barbecue and give out new shoes and backpacks to the children that were affected by the Valley Fire.
Vans co-founder Paul Van Doren will be at 435 N. State St. in Ukiah with his crew to socialize and encourage the children to feel free to be themselves through their individual style. The Freedom Crew wants to make sure that the kids that need this the most get a chance to shop. Families from Cobb, Middletown and the area devastated by the Valley Fire are invited.
