At Cache Creek Vineyards, we wanted to do something to help those affected by the Rocky and Jerusalem fires so we began making plans for a benefit concert. On September 12, we were having a Wine Club Pick Up Party at the winery and the sky began to fill with dark smoke again. The Valley Fire had broken out, now recognized as the third worse fire in California history.
We held our benefit concert on October 3 to benefit victims of all three fires, headlined by Tommy Castro & The Painkillers with Maxx Cabello Jr. The bands played to a packed house.
With the generous support of many individuals and businesses who donated to our silent auction and provided goods and services to sponsor our concert, we were able to raise $14,500. The proceeds will be split between two funds; the North Coast Opportunities/Mendo-Lake Credit Union Wildfire Fund, and the Lake County Rising Fund established by Lake County’s Wine Alliance, Winery Association and Wine Grape Growers Commission.
