CLEARLAKE >> The Clear Lake Campus of Yuba College is hosting an open house to celebrate the new offices for Workforce Lake and the Yuba College CalWORKs office. The open house will be held at the campus (15880 Dam Road Extension, Clearlake) on Tuesday, October 27, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in room 602. Enjoy some refreshments while learning how to get your education started as a CalWORKs participant and find the perfect job through Workforce Lake.
The CalWORKs (California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids) program is a state funded welfare-to-work program that gives support to needy families. The Yuba College CalWORKs office provides eligible matriculated students with school supplies, bus passes, book grants, and assistance finding work in the student’s chosen field of study. The office is open Mondays-Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and can be reached at 707-995-4176.
The Workforce Lake Business and Career Center offers job search tools and computer stations for job search websites and a free Typing Test Certificate. Their updated Career Exploration tools will get you in touch with current Labor Market Information and occupational training. Workforce Lake’s goal is to provide superior employment and training services for Lake County’s entry-level job seekers as well as professional seasoned workers. The Workforce Lake office is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and can be reached at 707-998-8891.
