MIDDLETOWN >> Kaleigh Alves scored two goals on her 17th birthday and the Middletown Mustangs improved to 8-0 in the North Central League I girls’ soccer standings by shutting out Willits 8-0 on Thursday in Middletown.

“That was a sweet little birthday present,” Middletown coach Amy Emerson said.

Caitlin Lemoine also had two goals and Rosie Emerson added a goal and three assists as Middletown improved to 9-2 overall. Ana Candelario scored her first goal of the season.

Middletown led 6-0 after the first half.

The Mustangs play road games next week at Fort Bragg, St. Helena and Lakeport.
