The service this Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County is entitled, “Confession and Forgiveness.” The service begins at 11 a.m. at the church, located at 3810 Main Street in Kelseyville. Guests are always welcome.
The service will be led by the Reverend Doug Kraft of Sacramento. One of the Unitarian Universalist principles is “the inherent worth and dignity of every person.” Kraft will look at how this principle is “wonderfully healing, but might also have the side effect of under-valuing the power of sharing our misdeeds with another person.” That sharing can be a powerful platform for arousing compassion and deepening the power of forgiveness.
Reverend Kraft is a Dharma teacher, retired UU minister, psychotherapist, and author of Buddha’s Map.
