Lakeport >> Lakeport Christian Center hosted a spaghetti benefit dinner on Oct. 8 for the Bauman family in wake of the recent hit and run accident which left Corey Bauman in critical condition while cycling.
The benefit dinner mushroomed from a single idea into dozens of people working hard to implement the idea, which resulted into about 500 people in attendance.
The Clear Lake High School Cheer Squad of 21 students came out to serve. Many business owners and individuals in the community donated a variety of items.
“Lake County is unique in the sense that despite all the destruction around us with the tragic fires and the loss we’ve experienced this summer, people are still able to pull themselves up and hustle together towards a common goal,” Rev. Ruth L. Suski said.
