LAKEPORT >> It’s a sport of ounces. In this case, one will do.

Joe Uribe of Surprise, Arizona, entered Saturday’s final round of the Rayovac FLW Pro-Am bass tournament in the lead and that’s exactly where he ended up, edging out Jody Jordan of Vacaville by the grand sum of an ounce during the weigh-in at Konocti Vista Casino, Reort and Marina.

Uribe, one of 10 fishermen to make the cut in the pro division after Friday’s second-round, finished with 66 pounds, 10 ounces to win $28,800 and a new Ranger bass worth with an estimated value of $45,000. Jordan was right behind him with 66-9, but that one less ounce cost him plenty as he received only $11,180 in prize money.

Three Lake County fishermen made the cut into Saturday’s final round and Mark Crutcher, who led the tournament after round one and was second after round out, ended up in third place with 62-9, earning him $8,665.

Jimmy Reese of Witter Springs placed sixth with 55-4 and won $5,770 while Carl Keller of Hidden Valley Lake was 10th with 49-8. He won $2,885.

In the amateur or co-angler division, Rick Grover of Trabuco Canyon led the tournament from start to finish and ended up with 55-5. He won $5,000 and a new Ranger bass boat.
