LAKEPORT >> Losing two players to ejections and others to injuries has forced the Clear Lake High School varsity football team to forfeit its North Central League I game to the St. Helena Saints on Friday night in St. Helena.
Clear Lake had two players ejected in a 32-23 loss last week to Lower Lake, compounding the Cardinals’ roster woes this season. The team has carried only a few players above the 11-man minimum all season. Ejected players must sit out their next game.
The 2-0 forfeit loss will leave Clear Lake’s league mark at 1-4 and its overall record at 2-6. St. Helena improves to 5-0 and 8-0.
Clear Lake’s junior varsity squad will play St. Helena at 7:15 p.m.
The Cardinals host archrvial Kelseyville on Oct. 30.
