Upper Lake High School cheerleaders perform during halftime of the Upper Lake at Point Arena football game on Saturday afternoon. Upper Lake and Point Arena engaged in a back-and-forth North Central League III donnybrook before the Cougars (6-1) emerged with a heart-pounding 46-44 victory. The Cougars’ fifth straight league win moves them into a three-way tie for first place atop the NCL III standings. They can clinch no worse than a share of the title with a homecoming win on Saturday against Laytonville. Kickoff is 1 p.m.
