Kelseyville >> At 8 a.m. this Sunday, shake off that Halloween candy rush from the day before and join Mt. Konocti Docents Ed Dearing and Gigi Stahl for the last docent hike of 2015 up to the top of Wright Peak and the lookout tower on Mt. Konocti.
The hike starts at the main parking lot located 3 miles up the mountain from the end of Konocti Road, located near Mountain Vista Middle School in Kelseyville. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing and bring your own water and a light snack. The hike is a moderately strenuous hike of 3 mile up to the tower with an elevation gain of 1,600 feet, and then 3 miles back down again to the parking lot.
Hikers over 18 years of age will be allowed access to the lookout tower after signing a county required waiver of liability. Volunteers from the Fire Fighters Lookout Association will once again be staffing the tower.
No sign up is required prior to the hike, which will end around 12:30 p.m. Steady rain will cancel the hike.
