Clearlake >> Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2337 and the VFW Auxiliaries recently donated $3,000 in recognition of the efforts Highlands Senior Center made on behalf of the victims of the Lake County fires.
“Our VFW post 2337, jointly with the Men’s Auxiliary and the Auxiliary of the VFW, are proud to have the ability to help this fine organization which helps so many on a regular basis,” said Post 2337 Commander, Stephen Schwartz. “It is our greatest concern that while the Highlands Senior Center is giving out to support the evacuees from three separate fires, their much needed and depended-upon programs of providing meals to seniors would suffer.”
Commander Schwartz, along with Men’s Auxiliary President John Burr and Auxiliary of the VFW President Carol Schwartz, presented the check on Wednesday, Oct. 21 to Highlands Senior Service Center Board President Shirley Kelsey and Administrative Assistant Teresa Gottschall.
