Lakeport >> Scott’s Valley Band of Pomo Indians will host a creative community workshop addressing cyanobacteria and its health impacts on the Clear Lake habitat Saturday at Konocti Vista Casino from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All tribal members from around Clear Lake are invited to attend and participate. Attendees will learn about cyanobacteria monitoring programs and will contribute to the creation of a series of health warning and informational signs and displays to be installed along tribal lands surrounding the lake.

Informed by the work of the Cyanobacteria Tribal Task Force, discussions will include historical and current conditions of the lake, working to develop a clear and helpful sign and kiosk system that will keep all visitors adequately informed regarding current water quality conditions in the lake.

This workshop will combine science, art, history and Pomo cultural traditions in a creative approach to the development of site specific, culturally sensitive and scientifically accurate information systems regarding Clear Lake.

Art supplies and refreshments will be provided. The entire family is welcome to attend.

Konocti Vista Casino is located at 2755 Mission Rancheria Road in Lakeport.
