Glenhaven >> Police Wednesday found the body of a woman reported missing for several days. The body was located inside a vehicle wedged down a steep embankment below a dirt access road.
At about 11:30 a.m., the California Highway Patrol received reports of a white Jeep that had apparently broken through a fence in a remote area in the hills above Glenhaven Drive in Glenhaven, Lake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) Lt. Steve Brooks said in a media release later that day.
North Shore Fire Protection District and LCSO personnel responded and discovered a dead body identified as Noelle Anne Shofner, 26. It appeared the Jeep had rolled several times before coming to rest against a tree.
Shofner was last seen on Oct. 28, a week to the day that she was found. Shofner was reported missing on Saturday. Her cause of death is pending an autopsy that will be performed later this week.
