CLOVERDALE >> Playing their third match in as many nights, an all too common occurrence this season, the Middletown Mustangs fell 25-21, 25-20, 25-14 to the Cloverdale Eagles in the North Central League I varsity volleyball finale for both teams Thursday night in Cloverdale.
Forced to schedule a large number of matches in a short amount of time due to cancellations forced by the Valley Fire in September, the Mustangs paid a dear price.
“You have to be able to practice more than you play or you just reinforce the things you’re doing wrong,” Middletown coach Jennifer Breiner said.
Jess DeSilva had three kills for Middletown (7-7) while Meghan Carlisle served up three aces. Emily Lescher had two kills and two aces.
