Monthly breakfast on Sunday
Spring Valley will have its monthly “all you can eat” breakfast on Sunday, Nov. 8. They will serve from 8 to 11 a.m. at the community center, located at 3000 Wolf Creek Road.
The special will be “holiday breads”. They will also have custom omelets, pancakes made to order, scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon, hash browns, biscuits and homemade gravy, and fruit. Juice and coffee are also served with a smile.
Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for children.
Friends of Boggs to hold informational meeting
Cobb >> On Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 6:30 p.m., Friends of Boggs Mountain (FOBM) will hold a board and informational meeting at the Cobb Mountain Elementary School multipurpose room.
Nick Kent, Boggs Forest Manager, will give a talk on plans for cleanup and forest restoration. He will be available for questions. If you cannot attend but have questions for Kent, email fobmtn@gmail.com and FOBM will try to get your question answered at the meeting.
A summary of the meeting will be sent to the FOBM email distribution list and included in the next newsletter.

Democratic Club to meet
Lower Lake >> The next meeting of the Lake County Democratic Club will be Tuesday, Nov. 10.
Club meetings are held in the Social Hall of the Lower Lake Community United Methodist Church, 16255 Second St., on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are open to the public. Membership is open to all registered Democrats.

Master Gardeners to host El Niño presentation
Cobb >> The UC Master Gardener Program of Lake County is hosting a free workshop titled, “Preparing for El Niño” on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to noon at Cobb Elementary.
The guest speaker will be David Layland from Napa; accompanying him and also taking part in the workshop will be Gayle Nelson, Lynda Bogner and Patty Peterson, who are also UC Master Gardeners from Napa County.
This workshop will focus on measures to take now to prepare your home and garden for heavy rain. You will also learn steps to take during and after a flood.
