KELSEYVILLE >> Patrick Mick ran for two touchdowns, one a 95-yard score, as the Kelseyville High School junior varsity football team beat Lower Lake 27-8 to clinch a share of the North Central League I championship on Friday night in Kelseyville.
Kelseyville finishes 6-1 in league and 8-2 overall. The Knights would have won the league title outright if not for a forfeit loss to Willits (6-1), which claimed the other half of the league title. Kelseyville routed the Wolverines on Sept. 25 but had to give back the victory a few days later because it used an ineligible player during the game.
Mick ran wild against the Lower Lake defense, amassing 239 yards on 20 carries. Brian Carillo added 47 yards and Jondy Lopez had 38 yards and a touchdown.
Kelseyville’s defense also contributed a touchdown as Carillo returned a fumble for a score. John Mendonca also picked off a Lower Lake pass to go along with four solo tackles and three assists.
