Kelseyville >> As part of Habitat for Humanity Lake County’s annual Saw Shop Benefit Dinner on Nov. 2, David Wong, the executive director of the Bay Area Deputy Sheriffs’ Charitable Foundation presented Habitat for Humanity Lake County with a donation of funds raised through the Sheriffs and You Foundation to benefit the low-income victims of the summer’s fires who are in need of replacement housing.

The foundation’s core mission is to provide financial support to prevention programs that serve the poor and vulnerable in the Bay Area. They assist disadvantaged children in securing school supplies, holiday gifts, as well as offer other programs that seek to prevent youth from turning to a life of crime, as well as supporting programs to protect seniors from abuse and neglect and aide in services to support those who are ill.

“Habitat for Humanity Lake County is pleased that Wong and his guests spent the evening with us at this event and chose to recognize Habitat for Humanity’s efforts to aid low-income residents in Lake County,” said Tammy Brigham of Habitat for Humanity Lake County.

Habitat for Humanity Lake County is currently fundraising to provide homes for those displaced by the fire. If you would like to donate to Habitat for Humanity Lake’s Fire Home Rebuild and Repair Fund, you may do so with a credit card at http://www.lakehabitat.org/?page_id=415 or by mail to Habitat for Humanity Lake County, PO Box 1830, Lower Lake CA 95457.
