Boggs Mountain Demonstration State Forest will remain closed well into the next year after being devastated by the Valley Fire. Friends of Boggs Mountain release a map revealing the extent of damage, with destroyed areas in pink and the park outlined in purple. Reforestation efforts will not begin until late fall of 2016. 6. Friends of Boggs Mountain will continue trail maintenance in the area behind Cobb Elementary, which is still part of the forest but is open and mostly unscathed in the fire.
