Sacramento >> Looking for a place to do some holiday shopping and support a cause? If so, plan on attending the Ben Ali Shrine Ladies Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center, 6151 H Street in Sacramento. Doors open at 9 a.m., and the sale continues until 2 p.m. Admission is free.

All proceeds from the 45th Ben Ali Shrine Ladies Holiday Bazaar are used to pay expenses for patient transportation to and from the hospital.

Children from throughout the Western United States, Canada and Mexico with complex, and sometimes life-threatening, medical conditions are treated at the Shriners pediatric medical center in Sacramento.

All care is provided regardless of a family’s ability to pay, and there are no barriers to care as admission is based on age and diagnosis. The Ben Ali Shriners transportation fund ensures that children near and far have access to the complex, compassionate care that is the hallmark of Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Shrine volunteers operate and maintain a fleet of vans that are equipped with wheelchair lifts. The volunteers make approximately 300 trips with children and the children’s parents from various locations in Northern California.

By supporting the Ben Ali Ladies Bazaar, you support hospital transportation and, in turn, children who can benefit from care provided by Shriners Hospitals for Children – Northern California. The Ladies Bazaar includes holiday goods in the form of arts, crafts, trees, wreaths, gingerbread houses and decorations.

Breakfast and lunch are available for purchase. And Santa will be there to make spirits bright.

Over the years, the bazaar has raised thousands of dollars to transport children, ensuring that they have access to life-saving, life changing care.
