
Middletown High School running back Noah Holguin ran for a season-best 186 yards on only 11 carries, including touchdown runs of 36 and 41 yards, as the Mustangs hammered the Willits Wolverines 47-0 in the opening round of the North Coast Section Division V football playoffs on Friday night at Bill Foltmer Field in Middletown. Holguin and six other Middletown running backs combined for 467 yards and six TDs as the Mustangs improved to 6-4 on the season. Middletown’s postseason continues Saturday when Holguin and company venture north to Eureka to play No. 2 seed St. Bernard Academy (9-1) at 1 p.m. in the quarterfinal round.
