UPPER LAKE >> The 2015-16 high school basketball season in Lake County tips off Friday when the Upper Lake Cougars host the Round Valley Warriors in a non-league four-game set at the Upper Lake High School gym.

The junior varsity girls play at 3:30 p.m., the JV boys follow at 5 p.m., the varsity girls tip off at 6:30 p.m., and the varsity boys play at 8 p.m.

Upper Lake’s JV and varsity boys are home again on Saturday to play Potter Valley in non-league action beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Upper Lake’s varsity girls are coming off a 22-5 season in 2014-15. They lost seven seniors and four starters to graduation but do return junior point guard Natalie Karlsson, the Cougars’ top scorer last season at 14.3 points a game.

Upper Lake’s varsity boys finished 2-22 last season but lost only three players off a roster dominated by underclassmen.
