KELSEYVILLE >> Kelseyville Unified School District, as part of the Local Control Accountability Plan, has purchased Google Chromebooks for every teacher and student in the district. Every student, at every grade level, will have access to a new Chromebook by December 2015.

Google Chromebooks are rapidly becoming a popular choice for educators. They’re lightweight, affordable and easy to manage. Chromebooks have a physical keyboard which allows students to improve their typing skills. Unlike a tablet or iPad, they provide a more computer-like experience, which helps students prepare for success in school and life.

Many students and teachers are already using the new Chromebooks in class. KVUSD Superintendent Dave McQueen said, “These new Chromebooks are already making a difference in the classroom. It’s exciting to see students using their Chromebook’s in class. The staff at KVUSD is focused on technology in education. With the Chromebooks, the launch of our new district Facebook page and our digital newsletters, we’re working to improve communication with parents and get our students ready for 21st century education.”

In addition to a focus on technology in education, KVUSD is dedicated to increasing student achievement and improving the school culture and climate for all students, staff and parents for the 2015/16 school year.

“I am continually honored to work with such great students and staff. It’s a privilege to help each one achieve their goals, which in turn impacts our community for the good,” added McQueen.
