Rush and the truth

I have been reviewing some of Rush Limbaugh’s radio show transcripts (him being 99.8 percent correct) and found one I thought particular insightful to his truthiness. This one was on the protest at University of Missouri.

“They’re demanding safe spaces at places like Yale and at Mizzou and many other college campuses. What are safe spaces? Where they are not subjected to people that disagree and where they’re not subjected to symbols that hurt their feelings, and they’re not subjected to negative comments, and they’re not subjected to jokes that they don’t like. In other words, they are shielded and protected from reality. They are basically — I don’t know any word to describe them but cowards.”

It is so cowardly to go on a hunger strike to get your way, just look at Mahatma Gandhi. What a coward he was!

Rush goes on to say, “They got scared with somebody driving around town with a Confederate flag.”

This is what one of the students said, “Last night as I walking through campus, some guys riding on the back of a pickup truck decided that it would be okay to continuously scream N—— at me,” (Payton) Head (Missouri Students Association president) wrote on Facebook the next day … Several other black students experienced similar abuse.” — Washington Post/2015-11-6.

Why is Mr. Head complaining? This happens to all the students at Mizzou doesn’t it?

Rush goes on to say, “We can’t handle symbols that offend us. We can’t handle speech that bothers us. We can’t handle actions. We can’t handle just the normal day-to-day aspects and characteristics of life.”

Like swastikas inscribed with human excrement?

More Rush, “You’d better be 100 percent politically correct. You cannot be in any way, shape, manner, or form conservative.”

The Republican Party is defined as politically incorrect? True?

“You know what hurtful speech is? It’s anything our little children don’t understand. It’s anything our little children don’t agree with. It’s anything our little children don’t want to have to deal with. It’s all hurtful and they demand to be protected from it. “

Is Rush kidding with this? Or this, “This is not the way you deal with bullies. I don’t care if they’re children bullies, coward bullies, or what have you.”

Coward bullies. Sounds like an oxymoron to me.

Another point Rush makes is, “We just … These feelings, these kids on college campus, they’re just asking to be shielded from the reality they are making.”

Is he blaming the college students for the actions of the racists?

Rush also says, “Either way, I want to read to you her resume. I’d like for you to hear it, ‘cause this woman is telling the media they are not welcome among the students as they protest on the Mizzou campus. You know why? Because media is making them feel unsafe, the media is forcing its way in. The left is totally creating … This is what I mean. They created this situation. They’re running the show. You know, this whole state is run by Democrats. The university is run by Democrat. The governor’s a Democrat, the senators are Democrats — or one of them is … How can this hellhole of a university exist as it does when the whole show is run by Democrats?”

The makeup of the state senate is 24 Republicans/8 Democrats; the house is 117 Republicans/45 Democrats. In the US Senate it is split; in the US House 6 Republicans/2 Democrats. But then I read this in Rush’s diatribe on Matt Bevin, “The way the Republicans act is kind of like the way the adults at Mizzou are acting. It’s stunning to note the similarities between the way the adults at the University of Missouri, particularly some of the alums, the administration, the board of curators, they’re acting identically to the Republicans and the way they deal with the Democrats.”

Is the board of the University Democrat or Republican? I guess they change parties when Rush needs to make his point.

Rush on the hunger striker (Jonathan Butler ) after he stated he didn’t feel safe on campus, “He’s a big guy. I don’t know why he would feel unsafe. Frankly, I’m not even convinced he does. I think this is all just something to say.”

Really, no blacks have ever been lynched or beat up? No homosexuals have ever been dragged behind a car until their body parts were falling off? Rush Limbaugh appears to be the one living a fantasy world. I would put his truthiness at less than 50 percent. He needs new fact checkers.

The sound of silence

For Kevin Bracken’s Benghazi hypothesis to have any credibility at all would mean that Charles Woods would have had to have been lying when he quoted HRC as saying, “We are going to have the filmmaker arrested who was responsible for the death of your son.” In fact, in the November 7 Record-Bee Kevin actually had the nerve to insinuate that Charles Woods was lying.

Charles Woods was telling the truth because if he was lying then HRC would have spoken up and set the record straight. This way she would come across as a shining example of integrity. At any rate, Hillary Clinton’s silence indicates that she lied to the American people (e.g., Charles Woods) when she blamed the attack on the video.
