Lakeport >> A driver was arrested after allegedly trying to flee the scene of a crash in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Codie Wilkinson lost control of his 2000 Mazda6 going westbound on Scotts Valley Road, injuring one of his passengers, Brandon Pabst. The 19-year-old driver was traveling at 50 mph when the car drifted to the right side, then veered back to the left before crashing into an embankment and overturning, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Authorities reportedly contacted Wilkinson, of Lakeport, attempting to drive his car away from the scene. Wilkinson, of Lakeport, was arrested on suspicion DUI and hit and run causing injury.
Pabst, 19, was taken to Sutter Lakeside Hospital by his parents to treat a broken left elbow and lacerations to the face.
