Upper Lake >> The Annual Holiday Light Parade in Upper Lake will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5. The event starts at 6 p.m. with the tree lighting ceremony.

This year the Upper Lake 4-H will sell pulled pork sandwiches, slaw and chips. The Upper Lake Senior Support Services will offer bread pudding and hot chocolate. The 8th grade class from Upper Lake Middle School will serve lighter fare of hot dogs and popcorn, and the 6th grade class from Upper Lake Elementary are preparing “cocoa in a jar” and “reindeer food” to sell.

The parade will begin at approximately 6:30, with the line up starting at the Upper Lake High School and Middle School parking lots. Everyone is welcome to enter in the parade, but you must be entered before lining up, so be sure to get there early enough to enter. No entry fee is required and trophies will be given out for different categories. The theme this year is “A Country Christmas” and parade forms are available on the North Shore Business Associations’ website.

Santa will arrive after the parade to listen to each child’s Christmas wish and present a photo opportunity for the parents, so remember to bring a camera.

Come join the festivities, support our local groups and help the North Shore Fire Department and the Upper Lake Community Council ring in the Holiday Season. For information call Debbie at at 275-2000 or Sara at 900-8585.
