It’s now that great season full of family and friends, when it is easy to get distracted from business matters. Many of us try to take a bit of unscheduled time to relax, get out of town, sightsee and just kick back. It might take just a little extra effort to keep an eye on important business matters while we are having holiday fun. The market keeps moving whether we pay attention or not.
Winding down the business year carries many wrap-up responsibilities. We hardly ever forget the big ones; but, sometimes the celebrations and excitement can cause us to miss a good opportunity. It just takes a little extra effort to stay on top of the commercial real estate marketplace activity during our winter holidays.
Over the past 10 months I have shared many insights designed to illuminate the importance of certain disciplines and practices. When put into action, those approaches can help you make your venture in buying or selling commercial real estate more successful, profitable and enjoyable. Don’t stop now applying timely good sense, appropriate practices and smart moves to your projects. Your Realtors will be right there with you, monitoring the market, catching good matches and keeping you informed, throughout these year-end months.
Keeping our fingers on the pulse means knowing your region and knowing what’s going on. It’s especially critical in our Lake County — in light of the many special challenges brought to bear by the wildfires and their impacts on real estate issues. Some trends and patterns with which we were familiar — and comfortable — may have shifted due to the emergency conditions. It is very important to investigate and become informed as to which impacts may (or may not) affect your projects underway or your future planned projects.
It is also important not to assume that disasters in one aspect of a market necessarily negatively impact all other parts of that market with the same net force and results. Active commercial property clients need to clearly and accurately define all positive remedies that may grow out of those negative impacts. Your commercial real estate professional can help you explore what’s relevant. No one wants disasters; everyone wants positive solutions from the aftermath.
That is an important posture that now exists for our Lake County. Some very important opportunities are here and now — for participating, for healing, for restructuring and for wisely investing in solutions. What has impacted us has also touched our immediate neighbors as well as our bordering counties. The connectedness of the overall region causes a commonality of concern, and therefore a common concern for the quality of the solutions.
We need to also consider offering our personal leadership as commercial investors, buyers and sellers. By creatively reaching out to neighboring stricken communities in the recovery and rebuilding efforts, there can only be good results.
Natural disasters present extraordinary problems. The real estate experts in your community will play an important role in working to preserve the character of our beautiful Lake County while it recovers.
Let’s all pull together for the best holidays possible within this recovery. And let’s also remember to keep our eyes on the marketplace and our fingers on the pulse of opportunities for the right regional solutions.
