Two meetings concerning the Lake County environment will take place this week. Today the Chi Council will hold a meeting to discuss the current status of the petition to declare the Clear Lake Hitch an endangered species. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has been petitioned to declare the hitch an endangered species. The meeting will start at 3:30 p.m. at the Lake County Agriculture Center, located at 883 Lakeport Blvd., Lakeport. The meeting is open to the public.
The Lake County Fish and Wildlife Advisory Committee will hold a meeting on Thursday starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Chambers in the Lake County Courthouse in Lakeport. The meeting is open to the public.
