UPPER LAKE >> David Becerra-Lopez and Alberto Lopez-Becerra of the Upper Lake High School boys’ soccer squad have been named to the All-North Central League III first team as recently selected by the league’s coaches.
A total of six Upper Lake High fall athletes in the sports of boys’ soccer, girls’ soccer and volleyball earned some sort of All-League honor. Along with Becerra-Lopez and Lopez-Becerra on the boys’ soccer team, Alberto Solano received an honorable metnion.
Co-MVPs on the All-NCL III team were Tyler Candon of Sonoma Academy and Sergio Ruiz of Geyserville.
On the All-NCL II girls’ soccer team, two Cougars were honored. Jazlyn Bonilla, Upper Lake’s keeper, was named to the second team while teammate Julia Mooney received an honorable mention.
The league MVP was Chloe Colbert of Sonoma Academy, which went on to win a third straight North Coast Section Division III championship.
In NCL II girls’ volleyball, Upper Lake setter Natalie Karlsson was an honorable mention.
Co-MVPs were Alexandra Fetter and Sarah Calabrese of league champion St. Vincent.
