LAKEPORT >> Four Lake County teams make up half of the eight-school field participating in the annual Clear Lake JV Basketball Tournament that tips off today and runs through Saturday at the Clear Lake High School gym in Lakeport.
First-round games today feature Kelseyville vs. Cloverdale at 3 p.m., Lower Lake vs. Fort Bragg at 4:30 p.m., Middletown vs. St. Helena at 6 p.m., and Clear Lake vs. Willits at 7:30 p.m.
Friday’s games feature the Kelseyville-Cloverdale and Lower Lake-Fort Bragg losers at 3 p.m., the Middletown-St. Helena and Clear Lake-Willits losers at 4:30 p.m., the Kelseyville-Cloverdale and Lower Lake-Fort Bragg winners at 6 p.m., and the Middletown-St. Helena and Clear Lake-Willits winners at 7:30 p.m.
The schedule for Saturday begins with the seventh-place game at 1 p.m. followed by the consolation championship at 2:30 p.m., the third-place game at 4 p.m., and the championship game at 5:30 p.m.
It’s the first of two tournaments in Lake County where the Clear Lake, Kelseyville, Lower Lake and Middletown JV squads will see each other. They meet again Dec. 17-19 at the 22nd annual Record-Bee Hoop Classic in Middletown, a four-team round-robin competition that also features a varsity bracket with the same four schools.
